Events
Women in Engineering UBC hosts several events throughout the school year to support the professional development of UBC Engineering students and to build connections within the community. Yearly events include the 14 Not Forgotten Memorial in late November or early December and the Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) mentoring night in March, while past events have included engineering career panels, a workshop on identifying and addressing gender inequality in the workplace, and introductory machining workshops.
In addition to events for students, WiE also hosts events for UBC faculty and staff, members of industry, and UBC engineering alumni to be involved in. Our flagship event is the WiSE mentoring night which is open to all women in STEM who are interested in being mentors to female engineering students. In addition, WiE also organizes panels for students and coordinates with companies who wish to engage with the WiE UBC community. For more information on these and other opportunities for involvement, view our Get Involved page.
